Apple Updates Remote Desktop Software

Apple has released an update to its Remote Desktop application via Software Update.

The 3.5 update is recommended for all Apple Remote Desktop users and addresses several issues related to overall reliability, usability and compatibility.


The support document isn't live yet; however, it's likely that Apple has updated Remote Desktop with Lion compatibility.

Apple Releases iTunes 10.4 for Mac OS X Lion

Apple has just released a new version of iTunes designed for Mac OS X Lion.

You can now use iTunes with OS X Lion's new Full-Screen App capability, which allows you to use iTunes and other apps without distractions. Navigate between your full-screen apps with a simple gesture.

Note: iTunes is now a 64-bit Cocoa application on OS X Lion and includes a number of important stability and performance improvements. Some iTunes plug-ins may no longer be compatible with this version of iTunes. Please contact the plug-in developer for an updated plug-in compatible with iTunes 10.4.

iPhone Dev-Team Releases Tethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.4

The iPhone Dev-Team has released RedSn0w 0.9.8b3 which can perform a tethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.4.


For the convenience of kernel hackers like @comex and @i0n1c, we have a new redsn0w 0.9.8b3 that supports a TETHERED jailbreak for iOS 4.3.4 on all devices that have 4.3.4 except the iPad2. The vast majority of people will want to stay back at 4.3.3 because that's where the untethred jailbreak is! There are no new features in 4.3.4 - only fixes for jailbreak exploits.

Also, this is a good time to remind everyone (since we're still seeing confusion about this): iPad2 owners with a baseband (3G or CDMA) cannot currently use saved blobs to go back to 4.3.3 once the signing window is closed. This is unlike every other device, so don't be confused! iPad2 owners with basebands should stay away from all updates to maintain your jailbreak!

How To Identify Fake GEVEY Sims & Avoid Getting Scammed

Ever since I unlocked my iPhone 4 using GEVEY Sim, I was facing battery drainage problems and also the area around the sim slot was getting over-heated. I thought my battery drain was due to iOS problems or over-usage.

Today I was going through Yahoo! Answers and found this question. I found the answer posted xbowlover interesting. Here’s what he says about the difference in original and fake GEVEY Sims:

The main difference is they use different chips. The original one uses F981 chips. You can see the digital numbers on the gevey SIM (The black part). And the copy one uses F300 chips. The manufacturers usually wipe the numbers out, and you will not see any digital numbers on the black part.

Only original Gevey SIM comes with F981 as they have bought out this chip in the market, so others can only use F300. And the original Gevey SIM drains less battery and has better signal reception.

You may also want to read: Difference Between Real & Fake GEVEY Pro SIMs This immediately struck me and I got a pin and removed the GEVEY Sim tray from my iPhone and found that there isn’t any number on the black part of the IC chip. Also, I thought to do some Google research on F981 chips used in GEVEY. And I found a Chinese site telling about the F981 & F300 chips.

RedSn0w 0.9.6rc19 released

Comex Fix For The Camera Issue will Be Coming Tomorrow with JailbreakMe 3.0

After releasing jailbreak 3.0 by Comex, most of iPad 2 users have reported that they can't use Apple's Camera Connection Kit after jailbreak their iPad 2s using JailbreakMe.

Update tomorrow will fix an issue with installing some packages and the issue with the Camera Connection Kit.

Comex has just announced on his Twitter that he will fix this issue within few hours. This update will come via Cydia so you won't need to jailbreak your iPad 2 again. Stay tuned

iPad 2 Jailbreak leaked by beta tester

@comex, a member of the Dev-team has been working hard on an iPad2 jailbreak since the device was released.  The jailbreak will use another PDF exploit via jailbreakme.com and support iOS 4.2.1-4.3.3.  Last night, however, one of the jailbreak beta testers leaked the exploit online.  This version of the JailbreakMe 3.0 exploit has not been confirmed by the Dev-Team or @Comex himself.  Many users have reported that this exploit only works with WIFI-only iPads and issues with Safari crashing.  (Sounds wonderful!)
